Nowa umowa Passport Advantage
Od lipca 2011 r. klientów IBM-a obowiązuje nowa umowa – Passport Advantage – zgodnie z którą rezygnacja z przedłużenia subskrypcji i usług wsparcia na kolejny rok powinna być przesłana do producenta. Klient może to zrobić samodzielnie lub za pośrednictwem resellera. Należy to uczynić przed datą wygaśnięcia dotychczasowego wsparcia.
Jeśli IBM nie otrzyma pisemnej rezygnacji, subskrypcja i wsparcie będą automatycznie przedłużone o kolejny rok. Opłaty za tzw. autorenewal będą zgodne z obowiązującym cennikiem. Zapisy na ten temat znajdują się w punkcie 3.5.4 nowej umowy Passport Advantage. Autorenewal nie dotyczy użytkowników z podpisaną umową ELA oraz z sektora rządowego.
Użytkownicy aplikacji IBM Software mogą wybrać dotychczasowy sposób zakupu usług wsparcia przez kanał partnerski, ale musi to nastąpić przed wystawieniem faktury przez producenta. Zmiany dotyczą systemów z serii Lotus, Rational, Websphere, Information Management, Tivoli, Cognos, czy Produkt Lifecycle Management.
