Nowa marka Huawei
Koncern zapowiedział wprowadzenie nowej marki rozwiązań sieciowych.
AirEngine to nowa marka, pod którą będą oferowane produkty Huawei, dostosowane do sieci bezprzewodowej 6 generacji, czyli Wi-Fi 6 – poinformował koncern. Huawei opracował technologię AirEngine, które opiera się na rozwiązaniach wykorzystanych w antenach 5G oraz akceleracji aplikacji. Według producenta nowe urządzenia są dostosowane do takich usług jak m.in. płynna transmisja w rozdzielczości 4K, VR, AR, łączność pojazdów autonomicznych.
Według dotychczasowej nomenklatury, którą uprościł Wi-Fi Alliance, Wi-Fi 6 miało być nazywane 802.11ax. Poprzednie generacje otrzymają oznaczenia Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) i Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac).
Kevin Robinson, wiceprezes ds. marketingu w Wi-Fi Alliance, uważa że 2019 r. będzie czasem komercyjnego wykorzystania Wi-Fi nowej generacji. Liczy, że między lipcem a wrześniem br. zostanie uruchomiony program certyfikacji Wi-Fi 6.
