W III kw. największe marki wprowadzą na rynek tablety z Windows 8.1 with Bing, które mogą być tańsze, niż obecnie dostępne na rynku.
Sprzęt z Windows 8.1 with Bing w przyszłym kwartale znajdzie się w ofercie m.in. Acera, Asusa i Lenovo – wynika z informacji tajwańskich montowni sprzętu. Jest to najnowsza wersja 'Ósemki’ (ze zmianami wprowadzonymi kwietniową aktualizacją) z domyślnie ustawioną wyszukiwarką Bing w Internet Explorerze. Microsoft poinformował wcześniej, że kopie systemu Windows na urządzenia mniejsze niż 9 cali będą udostępniane producentom OEM za darmo. Dlatego można spodziewać się premier mniejszych tabletów z systemem Microsoftu w niższych niż dotychczas cenach. Niektórzy vendorzy jednak nadal ostrożnie podchodzą do oferowania tabletów z Windowsem. Sprzęt z Androidem jest zdecydowanie najpopularniejszy na rynku mobilnym i tańszy od modeli z 'okienkami’. Ponadto na system Google’a jest więcej aplikacji.
