Motorola: tablety Xoom w wersji numer 2
Motorola Mobility wprowadziła na rynek tablety Xoom 2 z Androidem 3.2 i dwurdzeniowym procesorem. Mają m.in. opcje szyfrownia danych, modemy, możliwość bezprzewodowego drukowania.
Nowe modele to Xoom 2 (10,1 cala) i Xoom 2 Media Edition (8,2 cala). Oba wyposażono w procesor z zegarem 1,2 GHz i 1 GB RAM-u. Pojemność pamięci wynosi 16 GB (10-calowy tablet jest oferowany także w wersji 32-gigabajtowej). Z tyłu zamontowano kamerę HD 5 Mpix, a z przodu aparat 1,3 Mpix. Dostępne są wersje z modemami 3G.
Jak zapewnia producent, Xoom 2 w porównaniu z poprzednikiem ma jaśniejszy wyświetlacz (pokryty szkłem Gorilla), a kolory są bardziej wyraziste. Tablet jest ok. 100 g lżejszy od poprzednika (waży 599 g). Bateria według dostawcy wystarcza na 10 godzin pracy. Użytkownik może podłączyć się do wirtualnej sieci prywatnej (VPN), ma do dyspozycji także opcje szyfrowanie danych i preinstalowany pakiet biurowy QuickOffice. Aplikacja Motoprint umożliwia drukowanie bezpośrednio z tabletu.
Xoom 2 Media Edition wyposażono w ekran, który charakteryzuje się kątami widzenia 178 stopni, oraz w głośniki systemu Virtual Surround. Preinstalowana aplikacja umożliwia zaprojektowanie uniwersalnego pilota do urządzeń domowych. Urządzenie waży 386 g.
