Microsoft chce sprzedać 5 razy więcej tabletów
W 2014 r. Microsoft liczy na sprzedaż 25 mln tabletów z Windowsem, co oznaczałoby 5-krotny wzrost w porównaniu z 2013 r. Aby osiągnąć cel, zaoferował subsydia producentom.
Informacje pochodzą od tajwańskich producentów sprzętu. Ich zdaniem plany koncernu są zbyt optymistyczne i sprzedaż tabletów z Windowsem (wszystkich marek) może sięgnąć w tym roku 18 – 20 mln szt.
Microsoft zaoferował subsydia producentom, którzy wprowadzają na rynek tablety z Windowsem bądź pracują nad nimi. Według Digitimes takimi urządzeniami są niezbyt zainteresowane Sony i Lenovo, w przeciwieństwie do Asusa i Acera. W 2014 r. Asus planuje sprzedać 12 mln tabletów, z tego ok. 4 mln z Windowsem, a Acer – 10 mln szt., w tym 2 mln z Windowsem. Tablety z systemem Microsoftu wprowadzą na rynek także HP, Dell i Toshiba.
Microsoft spodziewa się, że w br. sprzedaż tabletów własnej marki – Surface – wyniesie 4,8 – 6 mln szt. (w 2013 r. – prawie 3 mln).
