Koniec smartfonów Blackberry?
Zakończy się produkcja urządzeń topowej niegdyś marki.
Chińska korporacja TCL, która produkuje smartfony marki Blackberry, zapowiedziała wstrzymanie ich produkcji. Ostatnie urządzenia zjadą z taśm w sierpniu br. Wsparcie już sprzedanych urządzeń TCL ma zapewnić do sierpnia 2022 r. Czy ktoś inny będzie kontynuował produkcję, nie wiadomo.
TCL projektuje i produkuje smartfony Blackberry od 2016 r. na mocy umowy licencyjnej z kanadyjskim producentem. Wobec drastycznego spadku zainteresowania marką, która należała do pionierów rynku smartfonów, Blackberry zdecydowało się powierzyć innej firmie biznes sprzętowy, a samo skoncentrowało się na oprogramowaniu i bezpieczeństwie cyfrowym. Jednak wyposażone w Androida "nowe" Blackberry nie podbiły rynku.
TCL przejęło także produkcję smartfonów marki Alcatel, uzyskało od HP prawa do marki Palm. Korporacja zamierza jednak wprowadzić urządzenia mobilne z własnym logo, stąd zapewne decyzja o zakończeniu współpracy z Blackberry.
