KE umorzyła śledztwo w sprawie Apple’a
Komisja Europejska prowadziła dwa postępowania przeciwko producentowi w kwestii naruszenia unijnych praktyk antymonopolowych. Jedno dotyczyło tworzenia aplikacji do urządzeń Apple'a, a drugie umów gwarancyjnych.
KE zarzucała Apple’owi, że nie dopuszcza narzędzi innych firm przy tworzeniu aplikacji do iPhone’a i iPoda. Na początku września koncern zmienił jednak umowy z dostawcami oprogramowania do urządzeń Apple’a. Obecnie – zgodnie z oczekiwaniami Komisji – mogą oni korzystać z narzędzi innych producentów, np. Adobe.
Druga sprawa dotyczyła braku międzynarodowej gwarancji na iPhone’y. Naprawa była możliwa tylko w kraju zakupu. Pod naciskiem KE producent wprowadził gwarancję na telefony ważną w całej Unii.
Za naruszenie praktyk antymonopolowych Komisja Europejska może nałożyć na firmę karę w wysokości do 10 proc. rocznego przychodu.
