HP zlikwiduje więcej miejsc pracy
Producent zmniejszy zatrudnienie o 5 tys. osób więcej niż wcześniej zapowiadał. W sumie zostanie skasowanych 34 tys. stanowisk na całym świecie.
Koszt całej operacji w informacji dla amerykańskiego nadzoru giełdowego firma szacuje na 4,1 mld dol. (poprzednio – 3,6 mld dol.). W maju 2012 r., gdy HP poinformowało o planie zwolnień, była mowa o 27 tys. stanowisk do jesieni 2014 r. Kilka miesięcy później ich liczba wzrosła do 29 tys. Według producenta do końca października 2013 r. redukcja objęła już 24,6 tys. miejsc pracy. Koncern zatrudniał wówczas 317,5 tys. osób.
Program restrukturyzacji wydaje się przynosić efekty – w IV kw. finansowym 2013 spółka przekroczyła oczekiwania analityków, a w zakończonym w październiku ub.r. roku finansowym 2013 HP wypracowało 5,1 mld dol. zysku (w poprzednim roku było 12,7 mld dol. straty), przy przychodach wielkości 112,4 mld dol. (-7 proc.). Zadłużenie zredukowano z 17,9 mld dol. na 16,6 mld dol.
