Nowością w asortymencie Gigabyte’a jest płyta GA-870A-USB3 z chipsetem AMD 870, przeznaczona dla 6-rdzeniowych procesorów Phenom II i Athlon II.
GA-870A-USB3 ma 4 sloty pamięci DDR3, złącze PCI-Express x16, 3 PCI, 1 PCI-Express x1, 6 portów SATA 6Gb/s i 14 złączy USB (w tym 2 USB 3.0). Dzięki funkcji Auto Unlock można odblokować ukryte rdzenie w niektórych procesorach AMD z podstawką AM3.
Tak jak inne płyty Gigabyte’a nowy model wyprodukowano w technologii Ultra Durable 3 Classic (podwójna ilość miedzi wewnątrz PCB) i wyposażono w funkcje On-Off Charge (ładowanie urządzeń Apple’a gdy komputer jest wyłączony), DualBIOS (dwie kości BIOS-u dla ochrony przed uszkodzeniami) i Hybrid EFI (możliwość instalacji dysków 3 TB i większych).
