Foxconn zaoferuje usługi chmurowe w Europie
Usługi dla europejskich klientów będą świadczone z nowego centrum przetwarzania danych w Czechach. To ma być wstęp do ekspansji koncernu na naszym kontynencie.
W celu realizacji inwestycji Foxconn zawiązał joint venture o nazwie SafeDX z czeską spółką KKCG. Ma połowę udziałów w nowej firmie. Centrum przetwarzania danych powstanie w Pradze. W ten ośrodek, a także w centrum R&D w Czechach chiński koncern zamierza zainwestować 101 mln dol. do 2018 r.
Plany firmy są jednak znacznie bardziej dalekosiężne: 'Pierwsze centrum danych w Pradze to pilotażowy projekt, który rozpocznie naszą ekspansję w całej Europie’ – zapowiada szef Foxconna w Czechach, Alan Macintyre. Zdradza, że usługi świadczone poprzez nowe data center będą skierowane zarówno do korporacji, jak i małych i średnich firm.
Foxconn to jeden z największych pracodawców na świecie. W szczytowych okresach zatrudnia 1,3 mln osób (pracowników mają stopniowo zastępować roboty).
