FEN: dysk sieciowy i odtwarzacz w jednym
W ofercie Konsorcjum FEN pojawiło się urządzenie QNAP NMP-1000P, które łączy funkcje domowego dysku sieciowego NAS oraz odtwarzacza filmów, muzyki i zdjęć.
W NMP-1000P zainstalowano procesor Sigma Designs SMP8643 (667 MHz), 512 MB pamięci SDRAM DDR2 i konwerter dźwięku Wolfson WM8524 stereo DAC. Odtwarzacz jest kompatybilny z najpopularniejszymi formatami plików audio i wideo oraz z plikami graficznymi, m.in. WAV, MP3, DTS, AVI, MPEG, VCD, DVD, WMV, MOV, JPEG, PNG. Połączenie z innymi urządzeniami umożliwia zgodność ze standardem DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance).
W obudowie można umieścić 3,5-calowy napęd z interfejsem SATA o pojemności do 2 TB i wykorzystywać urządzenie jako dysk NAS. QNAP umożliwia przesyłanie plików przez FTP, pobieranie plików z sieci P2P Torrent bez konieczności włączania komputera oraz tworzenie wielu kont ze zróżnicowanymi prawami dostępu. Odtwarzacz podłącza się do domowej sieci kablem lub bezprzewodowo poprzez adapter USB (w standardzie 802.11b/g/n). Urządzenie ma m.in. złącze LAN, 3 porty USB, 2 eSATA i wyjście HDMI v1.3a.
