Epson wydaje bezpłatną aktualizację oprogramowania do swoich przeglądarek multimedialnych P6000 i P7000. Nowa wersja oprogramowania służy do obsługi fotografowania aparatem podłączonym do przeglądarki (tzw. fotografowanie na uwięzi) — dzięki czemu użytkownicy mają dostęp do podglądu obrazu i opcji zdalnego robienia zdjęć.
Aktualizacja jest dostępna od 4 sierpnia roku w europejskiej witrynie Epsona dla wszystkich użytkowników przeglądarek Photoviewer P6000 i P7000.
Oprogramowanie umożliwia bezpośrednie zapisywanie zdjęć w przeglądarce Photoviewer poprzez zdalne sterowanie migawką z odległości do siedmiu metrów
od korpusu aparatu. Zrobione zdjęcie można natychmiast obejrzeć na ekranie przeglądarki. Fotografie są zapisywane zarówno na karcie pamięci aparatu, jak i na dysku twardym przeglądarki Photoviewer.
Program obsługuje fotografowanie przy użyciu aparatów Nikon D90, D300, D700, D3 i D3X oraz Canon 40D, 50D, 5D Mark II, 1D Mark III i 1Ds Mark III.
