Dell załatał lukę w milionach PC
Problem dotyczył sprzętu z Windows 10.
Producent załatał lukę w oprogramowaniu asystenta wsparcia. Umożliwiała ona uruchomienie złośliwego kodu z użyciem bibliotek DLL i ryzyko wycieku poufnych danych użytkowników. SupportAssist jest instalowany w laptopach i desktopach Della z Windows 10, więc problem dotyczył milionów urządzeń. Dziurawa okazała się wersja biznesowa 2.0 i starsze oraz wersja dla użytkowników domowych 3.2.1 i poprzednie.
Błąd jest związany według Della z komponentem od zewnętrznego dostawcy i został wykryty w końcu maja br. Producent ujawnił go teraz, gdy gotowe są odpowiednie narzędzia. W PC z ustawieniem automatycznego upgrade'u została już zaciągnięta. Aktualne wersje SupportAssist dla użytkowników biznesowych jak i domowych można też pobrać ręcznie.
