Dell rezygnuje z tabletów z Androidem
Pożegnanie z Androidem - koncern reaguje na spadającą sprzedaż tabletów. Stawia na Windows.
W segmencie tabletów Dell zamierza skoncentrować się na urządzeniach 2 w 1 z Windows 10. Dotychczas próbował swoich sił w niszy urządzeń z Androidem z wyższej półki, wyposażonych np. w wyświetlacze wysokiej rozdzielczości i takie komponenty jak kamera 3D. Jednak topniejąca sprzedaż na rynku klasycznych tabletów i rosnąca popularność modeli 2 w 1 z Windowsem skłoniła firmę do zmiany strategii. Dell wycofa także z oferty swojego PC Sticka z Androidem. Użytkownicy sprzętu Della z tym systemem (w przypadku tabletów jest to seria Venue) nie będą otrzymywać większych aktualizacji systemu. Firma zapewnia natomiast, że będzie realizować zobowiązania gwarancyjne i kontrakty serwisowe.
Dell nie wyklucza, że kiedyś sprzęt z Androidem wróci do oferty. Wśród urządzeń z systemem Google’a w portfolio koncernu pozostaną tylko chromebooki.
