DIR-510L to router, który może działać jako przenośny hot spot w standardzie Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Ma baterię pozwalającą na doładowanie urządzeń mobilnych.
Urządzenie umożliwia przesyłanie danych z szybkością 750 Mb/s, dzięki łączonej przepustowości w dwóch zakresach – 2,4 GHz i 5 GHz. W każdym paśmie można uruchomić osobną sieć bezprzewodową, jest też opcja oddzielnej strefy dla gości, bez dostępu do całej sieci. Za pomocą DIR-510L można udostępniać połączenie internetowe dostarczane za pomocą kabla ethernetowego.
Router ma dwa porty USB, z których można korzystać jednocześnie, do jednego podłączając np. modem 3G/4G, a do drugiego pamięć USB. Urządzenie pozwala na strumieniowe przesyłanie flmów lub dźwięku do tabletów albo smartfonów, przy użyciu bezpłatnej aplikacji mydlink SharePort. Funkcja UpnP oraz wbudowany serwer DLNA pozwalają strumieniowo przesyłać multimedia do urządzeń obsługujących tę technologię – telewizorów, komputerów, konsol. Wbudowana bateria o pojemności 4000 mAh umożliwia doładowanie urządzeń przenośnych.
