Corning zmienił nazwę
Corning Cable Systems Polska Sp. z o.o., dostawca rozwiązań optycznych, nazywa się teraz Corning Optical Communications Polska Sp. z o. o.
Z dniem 3 lutego 2014 r. dywizja, do której należy Corning Cable Systems, zmieniła nazwę z Telecom Business Group na Corning Optical Communications. Firma jest m.in. producentem kabli światłowodowych i pasywnych elementów sieci telekomunikacyjnej (puszki, szafy, szuflady itp.). W Polsce ma fabrykę w Strykowie, która zatrudnia ponad 1500 pracowników.
Corning Optical Communications jest częścią Corning Incorporated, z centralą w mieście Corning w stanie Nowy Jork. Corning Incorporated zatrudnia blisko 30 tys. pracowników, na świecie ma 100 fabryk i biur.
