Cisco Systems zaprezentował podczas targów Intertelecom w Łodzi router GSR 12416 przeznaczony dla operatorów sieci teleinformatycznych i telekomunikacyjnych. Ma matrycę o przepustowości 320 Gb/s i obsługuje interfejsy STM-64/OC-192. Może obsługiwać transmisję głosu (voice over IP) i wideo w sieci pakietowej. Cisco wprowadził także na rynek switch IP DSL 6015. Urządzenie przeznaczone jest dla małych punktów styku operatorów telekomunikacyjnych, pozwalającą na podłączanie użytkowników indywidualnych oraz firm do Internetu za pośrednictwem tradycyjnej linii telefonicznej z prędkościami do 8032 Kb/s (w zależności od długości i jakości łącza) z kanałem zwrotnym 864 Kb/s. Jest też przygotowany do implementacji nowego standardu G.SHDSL, który ma umożliwić osiągnięcie parametrów HDSL (symetryczna transmisja danych z prędkością 2,3 Mb/s po jednej parze telefonicznej). Ma mechanizmy obsługi QoS zarówno w warstwie IP jak i ATM. Pozwala to operatorom na transmisję danych, Voice over IP i wideokonferencje.
