Jeden z największych chińskich producentów znalazł się w poważnych kłopotach. To efekt działania sankcji nałożonych przez administrację Donalda Trumpa.
ZTE wygasza swoją główną działalność operacyjną. Niemniej firma zapewnia, że utrzymuje wystarczającą ilość gotówki i przestrzega swoich zobowiązań handlowych. Kłopoty są pokłosiem dekretu prezydenta Donalda Trumpa zakazującego amerykańskim firmom sprzedaży podzespołów oraz usług temu chińskiemu producentowi.
W chwili kiedy Trump ogłosił sankcje szacowano, że około 30 proc. podzespołów w produktach ZTE pochodzi z USA. Chińczycy nie mogą kupować procesorów od Intela czy Qualcomma. Dużym problemem jest też zerwanie współpracy z Google, co oznacza niemożność instalacji w smartfonach ZTE Adroida oraz aplikacji z platformy Google Play.
Jeśli nie dojdzie do porozumienia pomiędzy ZTE i Amerykanami, producent może zakończyć swoją działalność, a z pracą pożegna się około 80 tysięcy Chińczyków.
