CA rezygnuje z oprogramowania ARCserve
Firma CA pozbywa się swojego działu odpowiedzialnego za oprogramowanie do backupu danych - CA ARCserve Unified Data Protection. Jego nabywcą jest fundusz inwestycyjny Marlin Equity Partners. Wydzielona firma będzie funkcjonowała pod marką arcserve. Jak powiedzieli przedstawiciele CA, firma chce skupić się na pozostałych obszarach swojego biznesu.
W Polsce dystrybucją oprogramowania CA ARCserve dotychczas zajmowali się dwaj dystrybutorzy – Alstor i Veracomp (pozostałe produkty CA nie są sprzedawane poprzez kanał dystrybucyjny). Jak powiedzieli nam przedstawiciele obu firm, dla resellerów i ich klientów nic się nie zmienia, ponieważ 'nowy’ arcserve zadeklarował kontynuację tej współpracy.
Michael Anderson, wiceprezes funduszu Marlin, podkreślił natomiast, że przejmuje on pełną odpowiedzialną za wsparcie dla dotychczasowych użytkowników oprogramowania ARCserve. Dla użytkowników dostępna jest już nowa strona internetowa (www.arcserve.com), jednak formalnie cała transakcja ma być zamknięta 1 października.
