AMD przyspiesza nową generację mobilnych procesorów
Producent wprowadził znacznie przed terminem nowe procesory o kodowej nazwie „Bristol Bridge”, wyraźnie wyprzedzając tegoroczną premierę Intela.
„Bristol Bridge” to 7 generacja mobilnych procesorów AMD serii A. Jest to dla producenta najważniejszy produkt tego roku. Dzięki przyspieszeniu pojawi się on na rynku dużo wcześniej, niż tegoroczna nowa generacja układów Intela (’Kaby Lake’), zapowiedziana na II poł. br. Wprowadzenie 'Bristol Bridge’ połączono w czasie z wejściem na rynek nowych notebooków HP. Oficjalna premiera jest zapowiedziana ma maj – czerwiec na targach Computex.
Jim Anderson, starszy wiceprezes i dyrektor generalny, Computing and Graphics Business Group, AMD, zapewnił, że firma współpracuje już z najważniejszymi producentami sprzętu, aby opracować nowe urządzenia wykorzystujące potencjał układów „Bristol Bridge”.
Procesory wyposażono w rdzenie x86 „Excavator”, układ graficzny Radeon R7 lub R5. Jak podaje AMD, w porównaniu z mobilnym procesorem AMD FX „Kaveri” sprzed 2 lat, moc obliczeniowa wzrosła nawet o 50 proc. Nowy GPU umożliwia wyświetlanie obrazu w Ultra HD.
