Action zrealizował kolejny kontrakt
Nowa partia sprzętu trafiła do dużego europejskiego ośrodka.
Dystrybutor poinformował o realizacji kolejnej umowy w ramach obsługi Europejskiej Organizacji Badań Jądrowych (CERN). Kontrakt zawarty na początku 2017 r. dotyczy dostawy serwerów i pamięci masowych marki Actina. Jego realizacja została zakończona w listopadzie ub.r. W ramach tego projektu dystrybutor dostarczył CERN 130 serwerów i ok. 180 półek dyskowych o łącznej pojemności prawie 26 PB. Nie ujawniono wartości kontraktu.
Nowa umowa kontynuuje współpracę, która rozpoczęła się pod koniec 2009 r. wygranym przez Action przetargiem. W ciągu 7 lat (2009 – 2016) polski dystrybutor dostarczył do CERN 4791 serwerów Actina o łącznej wartości 55 mln zł. Teoretyczna sumaryczna moc obliczeniowa tych maszyn wyniosła ok. 1 PFLOPS. Serwery Actiny wspierają pracę Wielkiego Zderzacza Hadronów – największego na świecie akceleratora cząsteczek, a zarazem najważniejszego narzędzia pracy naukowców z CERN, których celem jest lepsze poznanie cząstek elementarnych.
