Przewody do zasilania notebooków mogą się przegrzewać – informuje producent. Rozpoczął wymianę podzespołów.
Niebezpieczny przewód jest oznaczony kodem LS-15 (widocznym na wtyczce). Był dostarczany razem z laptopami Acera sprzedawanymi od września 2010 r. do czerwca 2012 r. Informacje o urządzeniach, których może dotyczyć wada oraz o programie wymiany można znaleźć na tej stronie.
Kabel LS-15 w zeszłym roku narobił problemów HP i Lenovo. Odnotowano przypadki stopienia się przewodu i oparzeń. Obaj producenci również zaoferowali użytkownikom wymianę. Nie ujawniono kosztów całej operacji, ale najpewniej wydano na nią miliony. Tylko w USA i Kanadzie liczbę kabli HP do wymiany szacowano na 6 mln.
