Tajwański koncern skoncentruje się na kilku segmentach rynku.
Wkrótce osiągniemy trzeci etap procesu transformacji – oznajmił szef Acera, Jason Chen, według Digitimes. Celem jest rozbudowa biznesów, które według przewidywań firmy przyniosą profity w przyszłości.
W krótszym terminie Acer skoncentruje się na gamingu. W tym roku chce być liderem tego rynku w USA – zapowiada Jason Chen. W dalszej perspektywie stawia na rozwój obszaru BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) oraz inwestycje w rozwiązania chmurowe, sztuczną inteligencję, Big Data i Internet rzeczy.
Ponadto firma zamierza rozwijać takie segmenty jak HPC (High Performance Computing), serwery, oprogramowanie, komputery dla klientów biznesowych, rozwiązania smart city oraz rzeczywistość wirtualną. Nowe produkty zostaną zaprezentowane w maju w Nowym Jorku.
W ub.r. Jason Chen zapowiedział reinwestowanie 50 proc. zysku spółki w nowe biznesy. Obecnie Acer jest przede wszystkim firmą komputerową – sprzedaż PC generuje ponad 90 proc. obrotów. Szybko rosnącym segmentem segmentem jest gaming, który w III kw. ub.r. generował już ponad 10 proc. światowej sprzedaży tajwańskiej korporacji.
