120 mln euro na hot spoty
W krajach UE ma powstać ponad 6 tys. darmowych hot spotów. Sfinansuje je Bruksela.
Zgodnie z decyzją Parlamentu Europejskiego darmowe punty dostępowe mają ruszyć w miejscach publicznych, jak urzędy, instytucje, szpitale, parki, biblioteki. W ramach projektu o nazwie WiFi4EU Bruksela wyasygnuje na ten cel 120 mln euro. To kwota do podziału między 28 krajów. Ma być rozdzielona proporcjonalnie do wielkości geograficznej państw.
W sumie inwestycje obejmą ponad 6 tys. lokalizacji. O finansowanie powinny ubiegać się jednostki publiczne. Granty można uzyskać na 100 proc. wartości inwestycji. Liczy się kolejność zgłoszeń. Beneficjenci będą musieli następnie utrzymywać hot spoty przez co najmniej 3 lata. Szczegółowe kryteria zostaną jeszcze sprecyzowane. Program będzie nadzorować specjalna komisja.
Celem programu jest ułatwienie obywatelem dostępu do szybkiego Internetu i publicznych e-usług. Rada UE liczy także na to, że realizowane projekty pobudzą inne inwestycje w sieć dostępową.
