Samsung wprowadzi własny procesor do laptopów
Przełom na rynku. Tego jeszcze nie było dla notebooków z Windows.
Nowy układ ma cechować wysoka wydajność i energooszczędność. Szczegóły nie są znane.
Samsung wprowadzi własny procesor do laptopów. Ma być dostępny już w II poł. 2021 r. – twierdzi dziennik Korea Economic Daily. Według doniesień nowy SoC będzie produkowany w 5-nanometrowym procesie i wyposażony w zintegrowany układ graficzny AMD. Będzie to czip z serii Exynos. Jest ona oparta na architekturze ARM i zasila smartfony Samsunga. Nie są znane na razie szczegóły techniczne nowego procesora. Ma go cechować wysoka wydajność i jednocześnie oszczędność energii. Nowość będzie nadawać się zarówno do laptopów, jak i do smartfonów – wynika z informacji.
Samsung śladami Apple’a
Nowy procesor jest pierwszym własnym czipem producenta OEM laptopów z systemem Windows. Jak na razie Samsung korzysta w swoich produktach z CPU Intela i AMD. W zeszłym roku Apple wprowadził własne procesory dla swoich MacBooków i planuje stopniowo rezygnować z Intela.
Tym samym kolejny producent sprzętu zamierza przynajmniej częściowo uniezależnić się od zewnętrznych dostawców, wykorzystując wieloletnie doświadczenie w projektowaniu i produkcji procesorów.
Nawiasem mówiąc laptopy Samsunga wycofane kilka lat temu z europejskiego rynku powracają. W zeszłym roku ponownie weszły do sprzedaży w Niemczech.
