Nowa spółka – Polskie 5G
Nowy podmiot powołają wspólnie najwięksi operatorzy i państwowe jednostki.
Zawarto porozumienie w sprawie koncepcji powołania spółki Polskie 5G do budowy wspólnej infrastruktury usług sieci 5 generacji – poinformował prezes Polskiego Funduszu Rozwoju, Paweł Borys. Alians zawiązały państwowe podmioty – grupa Polski Fundusz Rozwoju i Ministerstwo Cyfryzacji, a także operatorzy: Exatel (również kontrolowany przez skarb państwa), Orange, T-Mobile, Plus i Play.
Prezes PFR wyjaśnił na Twitterze, że celem współpracy jest zapewnienie dostępności usług, bezpieczeństwa sieci i niskich cen.
We września br. rządzący zapowiedzieli, że kontrolę nad siecią 5G będzie pełniła polska firma ze względu na bezpieczeństwo informatyczne państwa.
Możliwe, że Polski Fundusz Rozwoju weprze finansowo nową inicjatywę. Jest m.in. jednym z inicjatorów powołania Operatora Chmury Krajowej. Zainwestował ponad 21 mld zł w polskie firmy. W ramach grupy działa spółka PFR.
W ub.r. koszty budowy infrastruktury 5G szacowano nawet na ponad 20 mld zł. Częstotliwości 5G zostaną rozdysponowane w ramach aukcji organizowanej przez Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej.
