VR od Samsunga i Microsoftu
Firmy wspólnie rozwijają narzędzia wirtualnej rzeczywistości dla systemu Windows.
Opracowane przez Samsunga gogle do wirtualnej rzeczywistości HMD Odyssey będą wykorzystywały system Microsoft Windows i dedykowany do VR moduł Mixed Reality. Nowe urządzenie znajdzie się w dystrybucji w listopadzie. Ma kosztować 499 dolarów.
Współpraca z Samsungiem ma umożliwić Microsoftowi zwiększenie konkurencyjności na rynku wirtualnej rzeczywistości. Samsung jest zaawansowany w pracach nad własnymi rozwiązaniami, które rozwija w ramach projektu Gear VR.
Nad sprzętem VR na platformę Windows pracują także: Acer, Dell, HP i Lenovo. Microsoft zamierza zbudować cały ekosystem technologii wirtualnej rzeczywistości. Podstawą ma być moduł Mixed Reality przeznaczony do obsługi wirtualnej rzeczywistości w Windows 10. Firma stworzyła też własne okulary do rozszerzonej rzeczywistości HoloLens. Nie są one jednak dostępne dla klientów indywidualnych.
