Funkcja CDP w przełącznikach Microsens
Microsens wprowadza w swoich przemysłowych przełącznikach Gigabit Ethernet funkcję obsługi protokołu CDP (CISCO Discovery Protocol).
Microsens wprowadza w swoich przemysłowych przełącznikach Gigabit Ethernet funkcję obsługi protokołu CDP (CISCO Discovery Protocol). Dzięki tej funkcji przełączniki są w stanie rozpoznawać bezpośrednio podłączone do nich urządzenia. Umożliwia to automatyczne wykrywanie i wizualizację topologii sieci Fiber To The Office (FTTO) za pomocą pakietu zarządzającego CISCO Works.
Protokół Cisco pozwala komponentom sieci w pełni automatycznie wygenerować listę bezpośrednio podłączonych urządzeń, które również obsługują protokół CDP. Informacje zawarte na liście to m.in. nazwa urządzenia, typ oprogramowania wbudowanego, dodatkowe oznaczenia interfejsów, adres IP, itp. Protokół CDP działa w warstwie drugiej.
Protokół jest dostępny w dwóch wersjach: CDPv1 i CDPv2. Nowa funkcjonalność jest dostępna już teraz dla przełączników przemysłowych Gigabit Ethernet z serii Profi Line MICROSENS. Aby z niej skorzystać, wystarczy zaktualizować oprogramowanie wbudowane. Wkrótce pojawi się też odpowiednia wersja dla przełączników Gigabit Ethernet FTTO najnowszej generacji.
