Zmiany producentów desktopów
Największe marki komputerowe zmieniają dostawców komputerów stacjonarnych w Azji.
Według informacji z azjatyckich montowni firm ODM (original design manufacturer) zaostrza się rywalizacja o kontrakty. Pegatron Technology przejął od Foxconna część zamówień na desktopy dla HP Inc. Z kolei Foxconn liczy na przejęcie produkcji sprzętu Lenovo od konkurentów. Do łańcucha dostaw chińskiej dołączył wytwórca modułów chłodzących Asia Vital Components (AVC). Lenovo i HP mają w sumie blisko 40 proc. udziału w światowym rynku desktopów, ocenianym na 100 mln szt. rocznie. W tym Lenovo dostarcza ok. 20 mln szt., a HP – 19 mln.
HP początkowo miało 4 głównych producentów ODM swoich stacjonarnych PC: Foxconn, Wistron, Flextronics i MSI. Wejście we współpracę z HP Inc. Pegatrona oznacza zmarginalizowanie roli MSI i poważną konkurencję dla Foxconna, który jest największym dostawcą sprzętu dla HP.
