Intel stworzył hybrydę tabletu i ultrabooka
Producent zaprezentował nowy rodzaj komputera – Cove Point, który łączy cechy wydajnego laptopa i tabletu. Urządzenie ma kosztować ok. 1 tys. dol.
Cove Point ma 12,5-calowy wyświetlacz dotykowy, procesor Ivy Bridge, port HDMI i dwa USB 3.0. Preinstalowany system to Windows 8 (na razie w wersji Consumer Preview). Ekran komputera można złożyć razem z klawiaturą (podobnie jak w tablecie Asusa Transformer Prime) i używać sprzętu tak jak tabletu. Po rozłożeniu Cove Point staje się laptopem. – Kiedy w zeszłym roku mówiliśmy o ultrabookach, chodziło o różne rodzaje urządzeń, w tym sprzęt z ekranem dotykowym, z ruchomym albo odłączanym wyświetlaczem
– wyjaśnił magazynowi Wired Gary Richman z Intela – W Cove Point chcieliśmy połączyć zalety notebooka z ekranem dotykowym i nowym systemem.
Prototyp urządzenia zaprezentowano w ubiegłym tygodniu na Intel Developer Forum w Pekinie. Jak na razie żaden producent sprzętu nie stworzył na jego bazie własnego modelu. Według Wired hybryda tabletu i ultrabooka miałaby kosztować ok. 1 tys. dol.
