Acer na Computex 2013: pierwszy 8-calowy tablet z Windows 8
Producent zaprezentował Iconia W3 - tablet z ekranem o przekątnej 8,1 cala, pracujący pod kontrolą systemu Windows 8.
Dotychczas z Windows 8 były dostępne tylko tablety z ekranem 10-calowym lub większym. Rozdzielczość wyświetlacza w nowej Iconii wynosi 1280 x 800 pikseli. W urządzeniu zainstalowano procesor Intel Atom Z2760 oraz 32 lub 64 GB pamięci, którą można zwiększyć o 32 GB instalując kartę mikro-SD. Iconia W3 ma także porty mikro-HDMI, mikro-USB. Jest oferowana wraz z preinstalowanym pakietem Microsoft Office 2013 w wersji dla użytkowników domowych i uczniów (Home & Student).
Urządzenie waży 540 gramów, ma 11,35 mm grubości. Można go podłączyć do pełnowymiarowej klawiatury Bluetooth, która pełni jednocześnie funkcję podstawki utrzymującej tablet w pionie. W3 ma też wirtualną klawiaturę, dostosowaną rozmiarem do pisania kciukami.
Według producenta Iconia W3 może działać na baterii nawet przez 8 godzin. W celu zaoszczędzenia energii funkcja Connected Standby gasi wyświetlacz, podczas gdy urządzenie pozostaje włączone i wykonuje zdania w tle.
Tablet pojawi się na rynku pod koniec czerwca. Przewidywana cena to 329 euro.
