Lark sprzedany za 15 mln zł
Spółka MIT Mobile Internet Technology, należąca do grupy MNI, kupiła Lark Europe - producenta tabletów i urządzeń do nawigacji. Zamierza podbić rynek nową ofertą.
MIT Mobile Internet Technology (wcześniej Polskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wydawnictw Kartograficznych im. Eugeniusza Romera), przejęła 100 proc. udziałów w Larku za 15 mln zł w gotówce. Do MIT należy już Navigo, dostawca danych GIS (system informacji geograficznej), interaktywnych map nawigacyjnych i usług lokalizacyjnych. Docelowo Lark zostanie połączony z Navigo. Spółki od maja 2011 r. łączy już unia personalna – prezesem zarządu obu firm jest Marcin Olbrycht.
Według MNI Lark od maja ub.r. sprzedał kilkanaście tysięcy tabletów FreeMe. Planowany jest rozwój urządzeń i związanych z nimi usług. Z pomocą tabletów Larka będzie można odbierać naziemną telewizję cyfrową (DVB-T). Spółka chce zaoferować użytkownikom pakiety płatnych kanałów telewizyjnych, e-booki i rozmaite usługi sieciowe. Tablety mają być sprzedawane na podobnej zasadzie, jak telefony u operatorów komórek, tzn. za sprzęt klient płaci symboliczną kwotę i podpisuje umowę na abonament.
