Producent zapowiedział poszerzenie oferty o linię notebooków przeznaczonych dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw - ThinkPad E.
Nowe urządzenia będą dostępne z 14-calową lub 15.6-calową antyrefleksyjną matrycą w wersji HD lub Full HD. Zapowiedziano 4 modele: E460 i E465 oraz E560 oraz E565. Na wyposażeniu będą czipy Intela 6 generacji oraz AMD – pojawią się wersje z zewnętrznymi kartami graficznymi. Maksymalna pojemność RAM-u DDR3L wynosi 16 GB. Opcjonalnie laptopy wyposażono w zabezpieczenia czytnikiem linii papilarnych. Na baterii mają działać do 9 godz. bez ładowania. Wśród złącz są trzy USB 3.0 oraz HDMI. Model E560 ma opcjonalną kamerę Intel RealSense Technology 3D. Seria ThinkPad E jest zgodna ze specyfikacjami Energy Star 6 i GreenGuard oraz certyfikatem EPEAT Gold.
