Zielone kości zostały rzucone
Samsung wprowadzi do oferty 2-gigabitowe kości pamięci DDR3 wykonane w technologii 30 nm. Należą one do grupy 'zielonych' produktów, tzn. energooszczędnych i przyjaznych środowisku.
Według producenta w serwerach pamięci Green 2 Gb DDR3 osiągają przepustowość 1,866 Gb/s przy zasilaniu 1,35 V, a w komputerach maksymalnie 2,133 Gb/s (zasilanie 1,5 V).
Samsung poinformował również, iż w połączeniu z wielordzeniowymi platformami PC moduły Green DDR3 30 nm o pojemności 4 GB pracują o 60 proc. szybciej niż kości 2 GB DDR3 50 nm, zużywając przy tym 65 proc. mniej energii.
Producent zapowiedział poszerzenie swojej oferty o pamięci RDIMM Green 30 nm o pojemności 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB i 32 GB 30 nm przeznaczone do serwerów, a także pamięci UDIMM 2 GB, 4 GB i 8 GB do stacji roboczych i komputerów PC oraz pamięci SoDIMM 2 GB, 4 GB i 8 GB do notebooków i komputerów typu all-in-one.
Jako pierwsze w sprzedaży mają pojawić się pamięci Green o pojemności 4 GB. Ich premierę zapowiedziano na przełomie III i IV kwartału. Cena produktów nie została jeszcze ustalona.
