IBM: zysk większy o 9 procent
Zysk netto IBM w II kwartale 2010 r wyniósł 3,4 mld USD, czyli o 9 procent więcej niż rok wcześniej. Korporacja najwięcej zarobiła na usługach.
Przychody IBM w II kwartale br. zamknęły się kwotą 23,7 mld USD, tj. o 2 procent więcej niż w II kwartale 2009 r. Na sprzedaży sprzętu koncern zarobił 4 mld USD (wzrost o 3 procent). Przychody z serwerów x poszły w górę o 30 procent, ale gorsze wyniki odnotowały systemy Power (spadek o 10 proc.) i z (24 proc. mniej). Sprzedaż oprogramowania przyniosła IBM 5,3 mld USD, tj. 2 procent więcej niż rok wcześniej. Największa popularnością cieszyły się aplikacje WebSphere i Tivoli (wzrost o 17 i 18 proc.), podczas gdy oprogramowanie Lotusa zaliczyło 6-procentowy spadek. Na usługach, np. wsparcia, serwisu, outsourcingu, doradztwie, zarządzaniu itd., koncern zarobił 13,7 mld USD (2 procent więcej niż rok wcześniej), w tym na usługach dla biznesu – 4,5 mld USD. Jednak według dyrektora finansowego IBM, Marka Loughridge’a, wartość nowo podpisanych umów 'znacząco spadła’, co nie zapowiada dobrych wyników w tym segmencie.
Zdaniem Marka Loughridge’a wynik finansowy spółki byłby jeszcze lepszy, gdyby nie osłabienie euro do dolara. W jego ocenie zawirowania na rynku walutowym zmniejszyły zysk IBM o 500 mln USD.
