Dell kończy ze smartfonami, stawia na tablety z Windowsem
Jeff Clarke, odpowiedzialny w Dellu za produkty konsumenckie, ogłosił ważną zmianę w strategii producenta.
Dell rezygnuje ze smartfonów, ponieważ zdaniem Clarke’a potrzeba dużych inwestycji, żeby odnieść realny sukces na tym rynku. – Do tej pory nie mogliśmy znaleźć sposobu, aby zbudować biznes na Androidzie – przyznał Clarke. Stąd zdecydowano o wyjściu z rynku, który będzie wart 150 mld dol. w 2014 r. (według MarketsandMarkets). Koncern stawia na tablety z systemem Windows. Już teraz Dell ma w ofercie takie urządzenia jak XPS10, XPS12 i Latitude 10, wszystkie z Windows 8 albo RT. Clarke zastrzegł jednak, że Dell całkowicie nie porzuca Androida. Zasugerował, że może pojawić się nowa oferta. Smartfony Della z Androidem nadal są sprzedawane w Chinach.
