Microsoft potwierdza datę premiery Windows 8.1
Nowy system wejdzie na rynek 18 października br. W tym dniu powinien być dostępny w handlu oraz na nowych komputerach i tabletach.
Windows 8.1 pojawi się w sprzedaży niemal dokładnie rok po premierze Windows 8 (26.10.2012). Użytkownicy poprzedniej „Ósemki” będą mogli go pobrać za darmo z Windows Store. Ceny dla pozostałych klientów nie są jeszcze znane. Prawdopodobnie będą podobne jak Windows 8.
System cechuje m.in. więcej opcji personalizacji (np. zmiana tapet tła, wielkości kafelków), integracja z dyskiem w chmurze – SkyDrive, ulepszone wyszukiwanie dzięki integracji z Bingiem, możliwość podzielenia ekranu na 2 do 4 części z różnymi aplikacjami. Użytkownicy mogą ustawić jako ekran startowy klasyczny desktop. Jest także opcja wyświetlania i porządkowania wszystkich aplikacji zainstalowanych w systemie.
