Asus: napęd optyczny i stacja dokująca w jednym
Producent zaprezentował VariDrive – urządzenie, które jest jednocześnie stacją dokującą z USB 3.0 oraz napędem DVD.
VariDrive wyposażono w napęd combo 8X Super-Multi DVD i 4 porty USB 3.0. Trzy z nich znajdują się na tylnym panelu (dwa są przeznaczone do użytku ogólnego, jeden do połączenia z urządzeniem mobilnym), a czwarty z boku – umożliwia ładowanie urządzeń mobilnych. Dodatkowo VariDrive ma porty HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, audio jack. Poprzez USB można podłączyć do stacji np. laptopa oraz dodatkowe wyposażenie jak monitor, klawiaturę, dysk zewnętrzny. W zestawie jest zasilacz 19 V. Waga urządzenia wynosi 452 gramy, a wymiary 202,7 x 140 x 15 mm.
VariDrive pojawi się w sprzedaży w 2013 r. Producent na razie nie zdradza jego ceny.
