Intel: sześciordzeniowe i7
Producent ogłosił wprowadzenie dwóch sześciordzeniowych, 12-wątkowych procesorów do desktopów: Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition oraz Intel Core i7-3930K.
Oba modele mają odblokowane mnożniki. Prędkości taktowania zegara i7-3960X i i7-3930K wynoszą odpowiednio 3,3 GHz (3,9 GHz Turbo Boost) oraz 3,2 GHz (3,8 GHz), a pojemność pamięci podręcznej L3 15 MB i 12 MB. Każdy rdzeń może jednocześnie przetwarzać dwa wątki. Procesory mają 4-kanałowy kontroler pamięci, są przystosowane do instrukcji Intel Advanced Vector Extension (AVX).
Intel wprowadził również chłodzone cieczą rozwiązanie do kontrolowania temperatury systemu (opracowane wspólnie z firmą Asetek) przystosowane do gniazd LGA2011, LGA1366 i 115x.
